FIBA gets the most out of SportAccord Convention 2017April 12th, 2017

AARHUS - The SportAccord Convention 2017 drew to a close in Aarhus, Denmark on Friday with FIBA making the most of its time at the world's premier and most exclusive annual event at the service of sport.
President Horacio Muratore and Secretary General Patrick Baumann headed FIBA's delegation at the convention, where the International Basketball's Federation's booth was dedicated to promoting the Road to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.
Mr Muratore and Mr Baumann held meetings with a variety of different sports stakeholders. FIBA 3x3 Managing Director Alex Sanchez was also on hand to discuss opportunities for hosting 3x3 events, which proved very popular, with high level of interest expressed by a number of cities and countries.
FIBA's booth welcomed countless visitors, among which were representatives from the Paris and Los Angeles bids to host the 2024 Olympic Games. Based on past experience, basketball will be expected to be a success at those Olympics as it is consistently one of the hottest tickets at the quadrennial event and because of the sport's popularity in France and the United States.
Mr Bauman was also on hand at the convention as the President of SportAccord, a position he was elected to last year.
